In-Person Services, Mobile & Outreach Services, Phone/Chat/Text Hotline

Emergency mental health ER Crisis Services can be accessed through the emergency departments at Birchmount, Centenary, and General hospitals in Scarborough 24/7. Birchmount and General hospitals have a crisis worker on site 24/7 for psychiatric/emotional crises. A mental health crisis team operates out of Centenary hospital 7-days a week, 16h a day. Urgent Care provides crisis assessments and brief interventions for those in the ER who do not need admission to the hospital.

Community Crisis Program serves Scarborough ad East York residents over 16 years of age with mental health symptoms including sadness, hopelessness, or anxiety. Telephone crisis support: 416-495-2891 and de-escalation, safety planning, assessments, referrals, brief psychotherapy, and community visits.

Mobile Crisis Intervention Teams work with Toronto Police Services and nurses to respond on-site to crises. you cannot call an MCIT directly. If you or someone around you is experiencing a mental health crisis, call the Toronto Police Service at 416-808-2222
